“I’ve attended several Candles and Conversations events (for singles in their 20s/30s) and each one has been such a welcoming, uplifting experience. Annette really has a gift for creating an atmosphere that feels both comfortable and engaging from the moment you walk in. There’s always good food, good music, and good vibes. "I had the opportunity to attend one of her events for Jewish singles aged late 40's to early 60's. I was pleasantly surprised with the turnout, and Annette and her wonderful daughter were very gracious hosts. It was also nice to see that Annette really wants Jewish people to get together, especially those single like myself, to try and forge ultimately a relationship with someone special. 

After some icebreakers of introducing each other at the event, Annette had some thought provoking questions to have those guests wishing to respond to, and give feedback on various issues important to the Jewish community! The ambience of the place was very warm and hospitable!

There was some sumptuous food that was served, and drinks as well for a reasonable fee! If you see one of Annette's future events coming up with Candles and Conversations, consider giving it a try, since, who knows, you may even meet someone special!

"I recently attended my very first Candles and Conversations Event. This one was for Jewish singles, who were in their 40’s and 50’s. 

The organizer and founder, Annette, made me feel comfortable from the moment that I entered the event space. I was the first participant to arrive, and Annette calmed my nerves and made me feel like she knew me for a very long time. I could tell that Annette put hours into setting up the event space. The tables were decorated with beautiful candles as centrepieces and other decorations, which Annette made herself, including the place cards. Music was playing and dinner and drinks were served. 

The program was very organized and interesting. The participants began by introducing themselves to the group, and then we had some very thought-provoking conversations on a variety of topics which were relevant to Judaism, Jewish current events and Jewish culture.  Annette was very interested in any connections which were formed during the evening, and she herself will act as a “go between” to ensure that those individuals, who did form a connection, will have the opportunity to explore that connection post-event. 

I really enjoyed the evening, and I would not hesitate to attend another Candles and Conversations event in the future.
